CapitalPBX: SIP trunk for your existing PBX

CapitalPBX connects the phone system you already own, hardware or software, to our cloud platform in Romania, over SIP trunking or SIP registration, using the external IP-PBX connector. You keep your equipment and your extensions, and calls routed through CapitalPBX pick up the cloud features. It is an option on Virtual PBX plans, not a standalone trunk product.

Pricing

Connecting an existing PBX is an option added to a Virtual PBX plan, not a separate price for a trunk. CapitalPBX pricing starts at 60 EUR/month, or 48 EUR/month billed annually, and the final price depends on the number of users and the options you choose. There is no activation fee, and the contract term follows the plan you choose. Details and calculator: capitalpbx.ro/en/pricing. Machine-readable version: capitalpbx.ro/en/pricing.md.

Frequently asked questions

What does connecting my existing PBX to CapitalPBX mean?

It means you keep the phone system you have and link it to the CapitalPBX cloud over SIP. Your PBX stays with you, with its equipment and extensions, while CapitalPBX adds numbers, cloud routing and call records in front of it. Commercially it is the external IP-PBX connector, an option on Virtual PBX plans, not a separately sold product.

Which SIP connection types are available?

Two: SIP registration, or SIP trunking on a static IP. You pick the type when you add your PBX in Cloud PBX settings, based on what your equipment supports and how it is exposed on your network. The configuration steps and the technical requirements are documented at help.capitalpbx.ro.

Does it work with the PBX we have now?

Yes, if your system supports SIP. The connection works over SIP registration or a static IP, and that covers hardware systems, software systems such as Asterisk, and virtual PBXs hosted by another operator. We do not publish a compatibility list by model, so the check is concrete: you tell us what you run, and a consultant confirms the right connection type. Technical guides are at help.capitalpbx.ro.

What happens to the extensions we already use?

They stay on your PBX and keep answering there. When you connect, you define the extension range that belongs to your system, and routing follows that range. The firm rule is that extensions on the two systems must not overlap, so the boundary between them is set at the moment you connect.

Are calls through the connected PBX recorded?

Yes. Calls between the two systems are recorded and appear in the CapitalPBX call history, identified by the system they belong to. In practice you do not lose the record of your calls just because you kept your own PBX. Where exactly to find them in the panel is described at help.capitalpbx.ro.

Do you sell SIP channels separately, without a cloud PBX?

No. CapitalPBX does not sell SIP capacity by the channel and has no standalone SIP trunk product. SIP connection exists as an option on Virtual PBX plans, for companies bringing their own PBX into our cloud. If you are looking for wholesale SIP capacity for a system you operate entirely independently of ours, we are not the right provider.

How much does the external IP-PBX connector cost?

It is an option added to a Virtual PBX plan, not a separate price for a trunk. Plan and option pricing is on the pricing page, where you see the total before you sign. There is no activation fee, and the contract term follows the plan you choose.

How long does connecting an existing PBX take?

Count a few days between the contract and the first call, with migration support included. Configuring the connection itself happens in the Cloud PBX panel, but the timeline that matters to you also covers the contract, the numbers and the testing. We do not promise activation in minutes, because it would not be true.

Can we keep our current numbers?

Yes, porting existing numbers is possible, in line with nationally regulated timeframes, subject to availability and regulatory requirements. We do not give you a firm number of days here, because the process does not depend on us alone. If you prefer the other route, CapitalPBX can also allocate new numbers, through partnerships with local operators.
